Objectives
The Workshop will bring together the policy makers and resource managers in the forest sector in the Asia-Pacific region to share information and expertise on sustainable forest resource management and forest-related issues. Emphasis will be put on enhancing capacity building for foresters across the region. The training programme will focus on
- Forest resource management in China;
- Planning of forestry development in China;
- Forest resource management, including sustainable forest management, application of modern techniques in forest resource management, theory and practice of leisure forests, development and utilization of non-timber forest products, bamboo resource and development, construction of natural reserves and national parks.
- Hot issues on forest resource management in International community, including forest certification, forest law enforcement and governance, and related international treaties.
