APFNet Scholarship Program
The APFNet Scholarship Program (ASP) is an important component of APFNet’s effort to develop capacity for the next generation of forestry practitioners by investing in education and the development of human resources in the Asia-Pacific region. The programme is open to applicants from APFNet member economies with relevant professional experience who are pursuing higher education in the field of forestry.
In partnership with three leading universities in China – Beijing Forestry University, Nanjing Forestry University and Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, APFNet offers scholarships for master and doctoral programmes in key areas of forestry. After earning their degrees, the scholars are expected to use their new skills and knowledge and contribute to the sustainable management of forests in their own economies.
Since 2010, the ASP has facilitated more than 160 experienced professionals in continuing their studies and boosting their careers. The ASP encompasses forest science, forestry economics and management, environmental engineering, forest protection, soil and water conservation and desertification control.
