Natural resource stocks have declined in unprecedented fashion over the last three decades. We cannot sustain growth in the same resource-depleting ways as the past. We need to promote green investment and at the same time re-grow our natural assets. In doing so, how can we foster SFM, forest rehabilitation and restoration and conservation? To what extent and how can we mobilize green investment?
APFNet and AFOCO (ASEAN-ROK Forest Cooperation) will co-lead Stream 5 of the Asia-Pacific Forestry Week, entitled “Our green future: green investment and growing our natural assets”.
Stream 5 is now calling for event requests from interested organizations to be session partners and contributors.The deadline for submission is 15 December 2015.

About Asia-Pacific Forestry Week
APFW 2016 will be the third Asia-Pacific Forestry Week following events held in Hanoi, Viet Nam in April 2008 and Beijing, China in November 2011. Each of these events attracted in excess of 700 participants and encompassed around 40 individual workshops, seminars and other events.
The main theme is Growing Our Future, which reflects the need for society to proactively integrate forestry into the wider context of sustainable development. The event will have five main thematic areas, or streams, that are led by FAO's key partner organizations. Each stream will focus on topics ranging from trade and market, climate change, community forestry, governance, and green investment.
