The project aims to establish the APFNet Pu’er Sustainable Forest Management Demonstration and Training Base at Wanzhangshan Forest Farm in Pu’er, Yunnan Province. The goal is to demonstrate best practices in sustainable forest management in tropical and subtropical areas, and to serve as a platform for scientific research, forestry training, environmental education, and facilitate policy dialogue to promote sustainable forest management across the Greater Mekong Subregion and other regions in Asia-Pacific.
To promote sustainable forest management by establishing 1,333 hectares of demonstration sites showcasing best practices in managing commercial and ecological forests.
To establish the APFNet Pu’er Sustainable Forest Management Demonstration and Training Base as a regional hub for forestry information sharing, training, research, and policy dialogue.
To disseminate sustainable forest management practices and conduct capacity-building activities in the Greater Mekong Subregion and the Asia-Pacific.

The project successfully established APFNet Pu’er Sustainable Forest Management Demonstration and Training Base at Wanzhangshan Forest Farm in Pu’er, Yunnan Province. This Base now serves as a critical platform for regional cooperation, providing facilities for training, conferences, and environmental education, which greatly contributes to knowledge sharing and capacity building across the region. In addition, by establishing extensive demonstration areas, the project provided practical examples of advanced forest management techniques, promoting biodiversity and enhancing the ecological functionality of commercial and ecological forests. The project not only advances forest management practices but also supports regional policy developments aimed at sustainable forest utilization and conservation.
