Following a three-year pause due to the global pandemic, APFNet is pleased to resume its Call for Projects. This marks the first call under APFNet’s
Fourth Strategic Plan (2026–2030) (SP4),.pdf with enhanced focus on climate action, biodiversity conservation, and inclusive livelihood development.

Submission Deadline for Full Proposals: 30 September 2026 (by invitation only)
Priority Thematic Areas
All projects must align with one or more of the following SP4 pillars:
* Field Demonstration
– Forest landscape restoration, climatesmart solutions, biodiversity conservation, digital forestry (AI, drones, remote sensing).
* Capacity building
– Training & scholarship programmes, institutional capacity assessments, tailored technical assistance, regional peer learning.
* Policy Dialogue
– Transboundary forest governance, policy research, integration of forestry into Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs),National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAP) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) frameworks.
* Information sharing
– Regional knowledge hub & digital library, synthesis and dissemination of best practices, inclusive communication strategies.
*Applicants: APFNet member economies, observer economies, and partners.
*Endorsement:
*For projects led by a member/observer economy – official letter from the APFNet Council Representative of the targeted economy(ies).
*For projects led by a partner – endorsement letter may be signed by an authorized representative of the applicant organization.
*Multieconomy projects: At least the lead economy’s endorsement is required at concept note stage, with a written explanation for other targeted economies. Full endorsements from all targeted economies must be submitted by the full proposal stage (extensions possible on a casebycase basis).
*Geographic focus: GMS, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Greater Central Asia, Pacific Islands, North America, Latin America.
*Project category:
Small-size Project (APFNet grant≤USD 100,000, duration ≤24 months)
Regular Project (APFNet grant >USD 100,000, duration 24–48 months)
*Counterpart contribution: ≥20% of total budget (cash and/or inkind).
