28 July 2026 –The Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet) and the International Mangrove Center (IMC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Shenzhen, China.

Dr. Wang Chunfeng, Executive Director of the APFNet, and Mr. Bao Daming, Executive Director of the IMC, signed the MOU on behalf of the two parties.

Under the MoU, both parties will strengthen cooperation across policy dialogue, demonstration projects, capacity building, information sharing, and partnership expansion; jointly advance mangrove conservation and restoration; continuously improve the quality and performance of mangrove forests; and fully leverage the multiple functions of mangrove ecosystems.

APFNet is a unique regional network and cooperation platform dedicated to advancing sustainable forest management and rehabilitation across the Asia-Pacific region. Through its extensive partnerships, knowledge exchange mechanisms, and collaborative initiatives, APFNet has been working with economies and organizations to promote forest restoration, capacity building, and regional cooperation. The International Mangrove Center (IMC), as the world’s first inter-governmental international organization dedicated exclusively to mangrove conservation and cooperation, brings valuable expertise and a global perspective to this partnership. The signing of the MoU between APFNet and IMC marks an important milestone in strengthening regional collaboration on mangrove conservation and restoration. By combining their respective strengths, networks, and experiences, both organizations will work together to support economies in the Asia-Pacific region in enhancing mangrove ecosystem protection, sustainable management, and the multiple ecological and socio-economic benefits provided by mangrove forests.
