The project successfully demonstrated multifunctional forest management and established "APFNet Multifunctional Forest Experience and Training Centre" in Wangyedian Forest Farm. This center serves as a regional hub for SFM best practise demonstration, forestry related policy dialogues, information sharing, environmental education, forest therapy and ecotourism.
The project established a 667-hectare long-term sustainable forest management demonstration site stands as a beacon for future forest management practices. It showcases a long-term forest management plan that incorporates biodiversity, climate resilience, and ecotourism, transitioning from traditional monoculture practices to a diversified, resilient forest ecosystem. This site not only serves as a demonstration of sustainable forest management but also embeds new economic and social values into forest conservation efforts.
The project’s ecotourism and forest therapy area, featuring a 2.2-km trail divided into various educational themes, has been instrumental in enhancing visitors’ understanding of forest ecosystems. This area not only serves therapeutic purposes but also educates visitors on reforestation, biodiversity, and sustainable forest management, aligning with the project’s overarching goals of environmental education and sustainable tourism.
